Consultants Discussing Director Performance Fees

Meyrick Payne Consultant group Management Practice has issued a bulletin looking into the idea of integrating a performance fee into director compensation. While he does not know of anyone implementing this strategy yet, Meyrick Payne, senior partner, told FD the idea is to generate a discussion among directors as to what really constitutes good work from a fund board.

"I think that directors are very nervous about putting their pay up and they are all going through a discussion about what constitutes a good job," Payne said. "This is a way to measure the overall quality of the work that directors do."
